Loc Tran, age 93, passed away on March 31, 2015 in Dallas, Texas. He was born on January 15, 1922 in Binh Dinh, Vietnam to Mr. and Mrs. Tan Tran and Tam Thai Nguyen.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peter Vietnames Catholic Church on Garland Road in Dallas. Visitation and Rosary will take place on Friday evening, April 10, 2014 from 5:00 - 9:00 p.m.in the chapel of Sparkman Crane Funeral Home on Garland Road.
Mr. Tran was a retired Congressman for Vietnam before moving to Texas. As a Congressman, he was a man of faith, fortitude and deep principles and was dedicated to giving a voice to the poor and marginalized and to working for democracy and freedom against the communist regime in Vietnam. As a husband, father and grandfather, he was the epitome of love, selflessness, calm, warmth and strength. Mr. Tran was the middle child of eleven children. He was preceded in death by his wife, Cuc Thi Huynh; daughter, Ai Phuong Thi Tran; five brothers, Tan, Tho, Tai, Loi and Khanh Xuan Tran; two sisters, Ky Thi and Thanh Thi Tran.
He is survived by two sisters Nhon Thi and Linh Thi Tran; four daughters, Hong NhungThi Tran and husband Huy Khai Huynh, Kim Thoa Thi Tran and husband Hau Phuoc Nguyen, Thuy Quynh Thi Tran and husband Long The Huynh, Hong Ngoc Tran and husband Hao Minh Pham; 6 sons, Vinh Tran and wife Thanh Tam Nguyen, Hao Tran and wife Valerie Ann Tran, Toan Tran and wife Thuy Nguyen Tran, Huu Tran and wife Ngoc Bich Tran, Dinh Tran and wife Serena Tran, Tien Tran and wife Kim Thoa Thi Nguyen; son-in-law Tuong Huu Nguyen; grandchildren, Courtney Uyen Tran and husband Tip Keoninh, Nam Tran and wife Linda Lee Hwang, Caroline Phuong Anh Tran and husband Cung Luong Nguyen, Long Tuong Nguyen and wife Meghan Elizabeth Nguyen, Lan Tuong Nguyen, Christina Diep Nguyen, Christene Tran, Jonathan Tran and wife Karli Tran, Theresa Tran Michael Trung Duc Huynh, Maria Trang Anh Huynh, John Tri Duc Huynh, Catherine Tram Anh Huynh, Ashley Yen Nhi Tran, Katherine Thuy An Tran, Kristie Anh Thi Tran, Audrey Thuy Duong Tran, Ashley Thy Tran, Tiffany Nhien Tran, Mariam Tran, Tatum Tran, Emma Bao Tram Tran, Christian Bao Nam Tran, Hunter Phuoc Nguyen, Chase Phuoc Nguyen, Erin Quynh Vi Huynh, Nolan Loc Huynh, Cameron Minh Pham, Chandler Ngoc Minh Pham; and seven great-grandchildren, Jaxon Luong Nguyen, Zoe Mai Anh Nguyen, Long Tuong Nguyen, Jr., Carolaine Nguyen, Loc Benjamin Nguyen, Brayden Tran and Baylee Tran.
Sparkman Crane Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
