Lois "Arlene" Ackerman passed away on Wed Sept 25th. She will be dearly missed as the loving sister, cousin, aunt, wife, mother and mother-in-law, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend that she dedicated herself to being for all of us. She focused her love on family first and foremost, but also enjoyed traveling, photography, hosting slideshows, outdoor sessions with her watercolor class, shopping for themed Christmases, cooking favorite dishes, having her toes in the sand, and any excuse for gathering with family and friends.

She is survived by Bob; her husband of 62 years; sons and spouses- Steve and Sue, Mark and Loretta, George and Victoria, and Scott and Kris; grandchildren- Jennifer Edwards, Melissa Roberts, Cobi Ackerman, Kevin and Kyle Ackerman, Jeff Hopkins, Jennifer Rohrer; great grandchildren- Jack and Justin Edwards, Stevie Roberts, Taylor Shrum, Grace and Jackson Hopkins, and Avani Rohrer, and many other extended family members, who were all cherished by her openly.

She faced 13 years bravely, enduring daily pain and challenges as a stroke survivor. We are comforted most now, by recalling her once again as she was during our happiest of times together.

When honoring Arlene, please also consider Tidewell Hospice Inc, 5955 Rand Blvd., Sarasota, FL 34238, as they were so supportive in her time of need.

Funeral proceedings will be by Palms-Robarts Funeral Home, 170 Honore Ave, Sarasota, FL 34232. Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. on Sunday Sept 29. Services and burial will follow at 2 p.m.
