In Loving Memory of Lois Beebe

On November 5, 2010, Lois Elsie Borup Beebe, 90, passed away peacefully at her Ventura home, with her daughters by her side. She was born in Rupert, ID to Benjamin Franklin Borup and Cora Elsie Elinor Hedden. She was married to Frank Harold Beebe on June 19, 1942, in the St. George, UT LDS Temple. She lived in Santa Barbara for 35 years and in Ventura for the last 10 years.

Lois was a faithful, life-long member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She had a very loving and giving heart, which led her to serve others throughout her lifetime. She served in many areas in the church, including 6 years in the genealogy library and 8 years as a temple worker in the Los Angeles LDS Temple. She also served a full-time LDS mission in the Hawaiian Islands with her husband.

Lois had many talents, including painting, crocheting, ceramics, and needlework.
She won many blue ribbons in the County Fair with these talents. She also enjoyed cooking, sewing, and traveling. She appreciated all of Heavenly Father's beautiful creations, and shared that joy with her family. Lois and Frank traveled the world together, and held a special place in their hearts for the Hawaiian Islands and the Polynesian people.

Her greatest joy was being with her family. She made sure she was there for every special occasion in their lives, creating many cherished memories for her children and grandchildren. Lois' family is grateful for her valiant example, and they will strive to pattern their lives after hers. She lived what she believed. She was a wonderful Mother, a loving grandmother, and a beautiful and thoughtful wife. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her.

She is survived by her sister, Barbara Borup of Richland, WA; her four daughters, Joyce Beebe of Ventura, CA, Linda (Bruce) Olson of American Fork, UT, Claudia (David) Stewart of Ventura, CA, and Debbie (Larry) Snarr of Goleta, CA. Also by 14 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. Lois was preceded in death by her husband, parents, sister, Norma Poe, brother, Bob Borup, and one great granddaughter, Allie Lanier.

Services will be held on Friday, November 12, 2010 at 11 am at the LDS chapel at 3501 Loma Vista Rd, Ventura, CA. There will be a viewing prior to the service from 10 - 10:30 am in the Relief Society Room. Burial will follow at the Santa Barbara Cemetery. Services under the direction of Charles Carroll Funeral Home.

Even though I did not know Lois well, since her daughter Claudia married my brother David, I know that she was a wonderful lady, mom, and grandma. I often heard Claudia speak about her. My heart is with all the family. It is so hard to loose your mom. You will feel her with you, and will know that the veil must be thin indeed. All my love to all of you, Jill Lister
