Lois M. Enlow of Williamsburg, VA passed away peacefully into the arms of her loving Heavenly Father on January 11, 2016 after a long battle with cancer. Lois is survived by her adoring husband, Gerald; her son and daughter-in-law, Bob and Pam Kuehn of Lakewood, IL; her daughter and son-in-law, Kim and Tim Chambers of Berryville, VA; and beautiful grandchildren, Lindsie, Drew, Chloe, Rachel, and Rebecca. Lois was preceded in death by her parents Cheryl and Roy Melville, her sister Roberta Miller, and her son, Michael Kuehn. Born on September 11, 1940 in Chicago, Lois enjoyed a dedicated career as a remarkable registered nurse of 35 years. It was in Chicago where her passion for gardening began. After moving to Williamsburg, Lois retired and went back to school to become a Master Gardener where she used her gift to serve Colonial Williamsburg gardens and greenhouse, Maddie's Garden, teaching elementary school-aged children the "Seeds of Learning, and the fundamentals of gardening, and was a member of the floral guild at her church, Williamsburg Community Chapel, and last, but certainly not least her lush, pristine landscaping in and around her home, the place she loved the most to entertain family and friends. Lois also took up the game of golf and enjoyed more of the fun camaraderie and friendship it brought to her life than the sheer competition of the game, although she loved to compete! Lois volunteered with the Welcome team, the Medical Response Team and the Floral Guild at Williamsburg Community Chapel. Lois also took numerous mission trips to the Dominican Republic to serve as a nurse with each team. Lois had a beautiful ability to light up any room she stepped into with her warm smile and authentic, robust spirit. She worked hard at anything and everything she put her heart and mind to with such attention to detail. Her greatest passions in this life aside from gardening, traveling, and being active was her relationship to Jesus, her husband, children, grandchildren, and beloved friends and extended family. Lois will be deeply missed, but we have the assurance that she is alive, well, and active once again, in the Holy city where King Jesus reigns forever. A celebration of life will be held at Williamsburg Chapel, 3899 John Tyler Hwy, Williamsburg, VA 23185 on Friday, January 15th, 2016 at 3pm. Please join us for this wonderful celebration followed by a lite reception afterward.

So sorry for your loss! I met Lois playing golf with the Ladies group at Williamsburg National years ago. Also, she was on our welcome team at the Chapel. She always had a smile. Please know that all of you are in my thoughts and prayers.

My sincerest condolences go out to the family of Lois M. Enlow. I do now know her personally but I do know her son, Bob and his wife Pam. In knowing Bob and being able to see the reflection of her wonderful spirit in him, I am sure she was a remarkable woman by far. It looks like her children had a very good teacher. It always warms my heart to know that someone's attributes will continue to live on in their offspring to the spender of their fullness as she looks on from above.
Best Regards to you all.
