Lois (Samuels) Hess - 93 of Orange City Florida passed away on Saturday November 2, 2013 at Majestic
Oaks John Knox Village following a brief illness.

She was the wife of Theodore A. Hess who died in October 2006. They were married for 65 years. She is also pre-deceased by her brother Jerry, Jr. formerly of Beverly Hills, California. Lois is survived by her two sons Ted Jr. and Don and their families.
She also had 2 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, 3 nephews and 3 nieces and their families.

Born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, she was the daughter of Jerome and Ruth Samuels. She attended
the University of Illinois Art School and retained her love of painting throughout her life. After their
marriage, she and Ted made their home in Madison and West Orange, NJ, then Allentown, PA where
Ted and Lois ran their own garment business. They retired to Palm Coast, FL in 1982 and moved to John
Knox in 1998.

Lois will be remembered for her dedication to family and community and her courage in facing all
obstacles with determination and a positive outlook. She never missed an opportunity to celebrate
important events with family and friends, never missing a birthday, always willing to help organize the
next event.

The family is not planning a local memorial service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions should be
made to a community charity of one's own choice. Remembrances can be made at the website of Deltona Memorial Funeral Home at www.deltonamemorialfuneralhome.com
