Obituary

Lois Estelle Huggins, 97, of Roxton, passed away Friday, June 20, 2014, at Paris Regional Medical Center. Bright-Holland Funeral Home has scheduled services for 2:00 pm Tuesday, June 24th, at the First United Methodist Church in Roxton with Rev. Ed Dodd officiating. Burial will follow in Restland Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 – 7 pm Monday at the funeral home. Mrs. Huggins, the daughter of A. Lois Estelle Huggins, 97, of Roxton, passed away Friday, June 20, 2014, at Paris Regional Medical Center.

Bright-Holland Funeral Home has scheduled services for 2:00 pm Tuesday, June 24th, at the First United Methodist Church in Roxton with Rev. Ed Dodd officiating. Burial will follow in Restland Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 – 7 pm Monday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Huggins, the daughter of A. Gordon “Bud” & Celia Etta Bybee Walker, was born March 21, 1917, in Lamar County.

Since childhood she has been a member of the First United Methodist Church in Roxton. She attended school in the Oklahoma Community near Roxton.

In June of 1946, she married Dennis Clifton Huggins, building thirty-five years of family and memories before his death in October of 1981.

Survivors include one son, Denny Huggins & wife Debbie of Roxton, one daughter, Rhonda Vann of Dallas, two grandsons, Denny L. Huggins of Lindsay, TX and Jordan Vann of Los Angeles, CA, one great granddaughter, Kalyn Huggins along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Casket bearers will be: Jordan Vann, Paul Slayden, Gary Slayden, Jimmy Slayden, Ronny Walker & Ricky Williams. Denny L. Huggins will serve as an honorary bearer.
