Obituary

Joyce Koke, 81, of Springfield, went to be with her Savior on Sunday July 6, 2014 at Regency Nursing Care Center. She was born on March 27, 1933 in Lincoln, IL., to Charles E. and Lena Evelyn Sutton Kingsley. She married Charles E. Koke in 1959 in Lincoln, IL., and he preceded her in death on January 17, 2012. Mrs. Koke is survived by her daughter Debbie (Frank) Guerro and her son Blake Koke both of Springfield, three grandchildren: Melinda Hoagland of Springfield, Brian (Lisa) Guerro of Colorado, and Reece Koke of Springfield and two great grandchildren: Brittany and Jordan Turner. Joyce Koke, 81, of Springfield, went to be with her Savior on Sunday July 6, 2014 at Regency Nursing Care Center. She was born on March 27, 1933 in Lincoln, IL., to Charles E. and Lena Evelyn Sutton Kingsley. She married Charles E. Koke in 1959 in Lincoln, IL., and he preceded her in death on January 17, 2012.

Mrs. Koke is survived by her daughter Debbie (Frank) Guerro and her son Blake Koke both of Springfield, three grandchildren: Melinda Hoagland of Springfield, Brian (Lisa) Guerro of Colorado, and Reece Koke of Springfield and two great grandchildren: Brittany and Jordan Turner. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Bill Kingsley and her sister Thelma McAfee.

Joyce met her husband while working at Cutler Hammer Manufacturing in Lincoln. She then worked for the Internal Revenue Service and also owned her own ceramic shop. Joyce became a Licensed Practical Nurse in 1981 and worked at Memorial Medical Center for ten years. She attended Southside Christian Church and Westside Christian Church in Springfield.

A funeral service will be held at 6:00pm on Wednesday July 9, 2014 at Bisch Funeral Home West, 2931 Koke Mill Road. The family will meet friends from 4:00pm until the time of service Wednesday at the funeral home.
