Lola Akers Frazee Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 22, 2010.

Lola Marie Akers Frazee, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt, went to be with her husband, daughter, and heavenly Father on Tuesday, Sept. 21, 2010. She passed away in Arlington at the age of 88.
Visitation: 6:30-8:00 p.m. Friday, Sept. 24, 2010 at Moore Funeral Home in Arlington, Texas and a private graveside service.
Lola, the third-born of four girls, was born in Lipscomb County, Texas on January 5, 1922 to the late Raymond and Alice Akers. Many happy hours were spent playing with her three sisters on their Lipscomb farm which is stilled owned by the family today.
She graduated from Higgins High School in 1939 and then attended the University of Texas in Austin where she earned a bachelor's of business administration degree. She married fellow University of Texas graduate Robert C. "Bob" Frazee on November 24, 1948. They lived and raised their children in Dallas and moved to Arlington in 1979. She worked as an accountant and later with her husband as co-owner of Frazee Transportation for over 25 years.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church. Her favorite pastimes included family gatherings/traditions, gardening, playing bridge and crocheting. Recently she reached one of her personal goals of reading the entire Bible. Lola was a caring and generously giving person who upheld the high Christian moral standards by which she was raised.
Lola was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, her daughter, Marcy, her sisters, Beth Statham and Melba Hughes and great-granddaughter Chloe McLain. She is survived by her daughter, Rochelle and husband L.R. McLain, her son, R. Craig Frazee, Jr. and wife Nancy, her sister, Avis Pitts; five grandchildren: Rob McLain and his wife Darla, Lauren McLain Decuir and husband Jamie, Kirsten Frazee, Robert Frazee, III, and Mariel Frazee; three great grandchildren: Jamison DeCuir, Austin DeCuir, and Emily McLain, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Donations may be made in her memory to The First United Methodist Church of Arlington, Covenant United Methodist Church of Arlington, Lipscomb Union Church in Lipscomb, Texas, The Wolfe Creek Heritage Museum in Lipscomb, Texas, the Bob and Lola Frazee Texas Wesleyan University Scholarship Fund, The American Diabetes Association, or The American Heart Association.
