Lorena M. Oberhaus, 92, died at 3:30 AM, December 1, 2013 at Vancrest Healthcare Center, Holgate. She was born December 11, 1920 in Pleasant Township to Albert and Alvina (Meyer) Baden who preceded her in death. She was baptized by Rev. H.C. Siegert of St. John Lutheran Church on January 1, 1921 and confirmed on May 20, 1934. Her confirmation verse was Hebrews 13:5, "Be content with such things as ye have for He hath said, I will never leave you nor forsake you." Lorena M. Oberhaus, 92, died at 3:30 AM, December 1, 2013 at Vancrest Healthcare Center, Holgate. Mrs. Oberhaus was a graduate of Holgate High School in 1938, where she was Valedictorian of her class.

On August 4, 1940 she was united in marriage to Raymond G. Oberhaus,by Rev. George L. Hueter of St. Paul Lutheran, Napoleon Township. Raymond preceded her in death on March 29, 1990.

She was a devoted Christian mother, homemaker, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. She was a lifelong member of St. John Lutheran Church in Holgate where she was active in Ladies Aid and Mission Society. She taught Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, and Catechism for many years.

Mrs. Oberhaus was an officer in the Ohio District Lutheran Women Missionary League. She and her husband were AAL Lamp Lighters and taught the Senior Member and Retirement Training throughout Ohio for 10 years.

She was preceded in death by her sons, Paul Oberhaus, on March 7, 2008 and Harold Oberhaus, on August 16, 2013. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Herbert Baden and a sister, Loretta Oberhaus.

Survivors include 3 sons, Luther (Cindy) Oberhaus of Louisville, KY., Jim (Deb) Oberhaus of Bluffton, OH, Jerry (Cindy) Oberhaus of Holgate, OH and daughters-in-law Sharon (Paul) Oberhaus of North Ridgeville,OH and Shirley (Harold) Oberhaus of Bowling Green, OH; 12 grandchildren, Brian, Angie, Susan, Phillip, Roy, Joy, Robin, Geoffrey, Kimberly, Kevin, Danielle, Joshua; 15 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

Services will begin at 11:00 am, Wednesday, December 4 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Holgate, OH with Rev. Theodore Rellstab officiating. Friends may call Tuesday, December, 3 from 2-8 pm at Snyder Funeral Home in Holgate and Wednesday one hour prior to services at St. John's Lutheran. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery also in Holgate.

Memorial contributions should be made to Lutheran Laymen's League, St. John's Lutheran Church, or a charity of the donor's choice.
