Lorna Jeannette Sheppard, 89, passed away suddenly while at home on Sunday, March 12, 2016.
Lorna was born May 15, 1927, in Logan, UT, to the late Frank C. and Delina Jeannette Ford Rich. Lorna met her husband, ‘Bud’, in California where they settled down in Santa Clara for over 50 years. Several years after the loss of her husband, Lorna decided that living alone was no longer for her and moved across the country to live with her daughter and son-in-law. In her later years Lorna loved to spend time with her family and friends, and she enjoyed taking care of her pets and her orchids.
A graveside service will be held Tuesday, March 21, 2017, at Mission City Memorial Park, 420 N. Winchester Blvd., Santa Clara, CA 95050.
She is survived by her daughter, Debra J. Austermuehle and husband, Ed; grandchildren, Andrea Cassevah and husband Nick, and LCDR Ryan Sheppard and wife Angela; and a great granddaughter, Tayler Figo. In addition to her parents, Lorna was preceded in death by her husband, Sherman B. Sheppard; son, Lance S. Sheppard; and three brothers, Robert, Lamar, and Carlos Rich.
Memorial contributions may be made in her honor to Red Barn Rescue, www.redbarnrescue.com

My Friday afternoons will never be the same. I enjoyed our time together pampering Lorna and she had a bright smile for everyone.
