RUMMENIE, Lorna Grace (nee Maye)

Was called home on Thursday October 30, 2014 with her loving husband Jim of 51 years, by her side, at the age of 72. Beloved mother of Nancy-Jean and Cindy-Ann. Lorna was a member of the First Baptist Church of Aurora. And for many years she was one of the founding members and Director of Aurora Food Pantry.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday November 5, 2014 from 2 - 4 and 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. at the Thompson Funeral Home 530 Industrial Parkway South, (at Yonge St) Aurora Ontario 905-727-5421. Funeral Service to be held on Thursday November 6, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Aurora, 33 Wellington Street East, Aurora, Ontario. Interment Goodwood Cemetery. In leiu of flowers, donations to Canadian Cancer Society, Teen Ranch or Crossroads Ministries would be appreciated by the family. Condolences www.thompsonfh-aurora.com.

So sorry to hear about Lorna's passing. My heart and thoughts go out to you Nancy-Jean, Cindy-Ann and Jim. Lorna helped my son Martin and I a lot when we lived in Aurora and she was a true friend and Christian. From the first time I met Lorna in the mid 1970s when walking home in the rain. I stopped under a tree across the street from your place - as if a tree would provide shelter. But you did Lorna, inviting me into your home even though we had never met before. So glad I got to see you one more time when I was in Aurora in March.
