Lorraine Marie (Peppenhorst) Adams was born on April 8, 1923, in Detroit, Michigan. She was the oldest of two children born to Braswell and Rosa Peppenhorst. Her younger brother was Howard Peppenhorst.
Lorraine graduated from Melvindale High School in 1941. She married Frank Adams on July 27, 1942. She is survived by their four children, seven grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
Her parents learned the truth in Melvindale, Michigan, when Lorraine was five years old. Lorraine was baptized in 1938, at the age of fifteen. She was one of 15,000 children at the St. Louis, Missouri, district convention who received the publication entitled "Children" from Brother Rutherford.
During her life Lorraine experienced much opposition because of her faith. She was with others in the ministry one day in Jackson, Michigan, driving a sound car. After stopping for a time, several angry men overturned the car. On another occasion, she was participating in street witnessing in Wyandotte, Michigan, when the entire group was arrested and put in jail. They sang kingdom songs until the Congregation Servant bailed them out. That Congregation Servant became her husband four years later. She was also part of a large group of witnesses who faced mob action in Newport, Michigan. Through it all, her faithfulness never wavered. She has been an inspiration to all who knew her.
In her seventy-three years of dedicated service to Jehovah, Lorraine never missed a month in the ministry. She took advantage of her time in the rehab facility following her recent surgery to witness to the staff. In her final days she was still preaching the good news.
Lorraine fell asleep in death at her son Paul's home on Thursday, October 13, 2011, at the age of eighty-eight. She will be deeply missed.

Lorriane was such a wonderful lady. She was so refined but yet loved to have a good laugh. I always loved book study and service at the Riley/Adams home!! I felt a kinship to Lorriane as she know my grandmother and share many memories of Detroit and Michingan with our family. She was such a wonderful example of a spritural women and we can all take her example and learn. She will be greatly missed by all who had the priviledge to know a gem of a lady!

Jan, your mom will be missed greatly. She had so much energy for the ministry - even with her bad knees. Her energy level was amazing and encouraging. When I heard Jane call her "GG" I was intrigued, but then came to understand it stood for Great Grandmother. What a treat to have several generations faithfully serving Jehovah. Love you all.
