Mrs. Minnie Lou Batey Puckett, was known for her love, kindness, compassion and generosity to her family, community, and the Granny White Church of Christ. Lou, as she preferred to be called, earned her Bachelor’s degree from David Lipscomb University and Master’s Degree from Tennessee State University. She retired from Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools where she taught kindergarten for many years. Later, she volunteered at the Life-Long learning Program at David Lipscomb University. Lou, as she preferred to be called, earned her Bachelor’s degree from David Lipscomb University and Master’s Degree from Tennessee State University. Lou is preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, Erlon Fields Puckett Jr. whom she married in 1953. Lou is survived by her children, Erlon Fields Puckett III, Trevor Batey Puckett, and Amy Jenell Puckett-Quirk, and her grandchildren, Trevor Batey Puckett II, Erlon Fields Puckett IV, Jessica Ann Puckett, Elizabeth May Puckett, and Chase Daniel Quirk, and her great-grandchildren, Trevor Batey Puckett III, Alexander Jadin Puckett, Benjamin David Puckett, and Eli Ryder Puckett.





Visitation will begin at 9:30 on Tuesday, July 8, 2014. The memorial service to celebrate her life will be at 11:00 am at the Granny White Church of Christ Fellowship Hall, 3805 Granny White Pike, Nashville, TN 37215. She will be cremated and inurned in a private family ceremony. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alive Hospice, 1718 Patterson Street, Nashville, TN 37203 in honor of Lou Puckett.
