Obituary

Louis A. Bonner, beloved husband, father, grand-father, great-grandfather, passed away March 16, 2013 at the age of 89, in Beaumont. Louis was born August 22, 1923. He was a veteran of the United States Army Air Corp, serving in World War II. After the service, he farmed rice and raised cattle until age 65. His time off was spent fishing, hunting with his wife, friends and family. He also enjoyed his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a little league coach, a member of the Lion's Club, and a member of the Nome Volunteer Fire Department. He was awarded in 2007, pioneer farmer of the year at the Texas Rice Festival in...
Louis A. Bonner, beloved husband, father, grand-father, great-grandfather, passed away March 16, 2013 at the age of 89, in Beaumont. Louis was born August 22, 1923. He was a veteran of the United States Army Air Corp, serving in World War II. After the service, he farmed rice and raised cattle until age 65. His time off was spent fishing, hunting with his wife, friends and family. He also enjoyed his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a little league coach, a member of the Lion's Club, and a member of the Nome Volunteer Fire Department. He was awarded in 2007, pioneer farmer of the year at the Texas Rice Festival in Winnie, TX.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Lessie Stevens.

He was survived by his wife of 70 years, Dauphine of Nome, Texas, two daughters; Louise Glenn and husband Jamey of College Station, Barbara Nunez and husband Bryan of Nome, one son Craig Bonner and wife Judy of Nome, grandchildren; Stacey Shrank and husband David of College Station, Scooter Ellerbee and wife Ceslie of Nome, Lisa Ramirez and husband Noel of Nome, Chelsie Ellerbee of Springtown, Jodie Bonner of Nome, and Nick Nunez of Lake Charles, LA, great-grandchildren; Cannon and Keaton Shrank of College Station, Abbie, Lexie, and Gunner Ramirez of Nome, and Caitlyn and Caden Bullock of Nome.

A gathering of family and friends will begin on Monday, March 18, 2013, from 6-8 p.m. at Forest Lawn Funeral Home in Beaumont. Funeral services will begin on Tuesday, March 19, 2013, at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
