Louis Salvatore Corsini, 89, passed away on August 5, 2012 at Jay Robert Lauer Hospice with his loving wife, Nunzia, at his side.

Born in 1922 in Brooklyn, NY, to Maria and Pasquale Corsini , Lou was the big brother his four siblings looked up to. Handsome, smart, and funny, he had a love of languages and was fluent in Italian. Graduating from Textile High in NY, he went on to tech school to learn the "new-fangled" world of plastics. His talent for making things with precision drew him to become a machinist, a trade he excelled in all his working life. He served proudly in the U.S. Army in 1946-47, stationed in Hawaii, and returned to a job at R. Hoe & Company in The Bronx, NY. He later worked in Naples, Italy, and at the Earle Naval Base in NJ.

Lou was not wealthy, yet he imparted a wealth of know-how, laughter, and entertainment to those around him. He had a passion for opera and Broadway musicals, and would sing out happily until you begged for mercy. He enjoyed painting, could craft anything out of metal, and was the world's best do-it-yourselfer. He was a member of St. Matthew's Roman Catholic Church, where he and Nunzia attended Mass regularly.

Lou lost his first wife, Nancy, to cancer in 1959, and two years later married Nunzia, who became the love of his life for 51 years until his last breath. He is survived by 5 children-Patricia Caroli (Victor); Carol Ervin (Jeff); Louis Corsini; William Corsini; and Anthony Corsini (Elizabeth). He also leaves 5 grandchildren-Daniel, Bryan, James, Kevin, and Isabella; 2 step-grandchildren-Carly and Jeffrey; and one great-grandchild, Dylan-in addition to many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Lou was predeceased by his sister, Rita Corsini, and will be missed by his sisters Geraldine Gedwell and Rose Frankel, and brother, Anthony Corsini (Dolores).

Visitation: Dorsey-E. Earl Smith Funeral Home, 3041 Kirk Rd., Lake Worth, on Wednesday, August 8, from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral mass on Thursday,11:00 A.M., August 9th at St. Matthew's Church, 6090 Hypoluxo Rd., Lake Worth. Burial to follow at Our Lady Queen of Peace Cemetery, 10941 Southern Blvd., Royal Palm Beach.

The family would be honored if you chose to make a contribution to the Alzheimer's Association in Lou Corsini's name.
