Louis Richard LeBlanc of Alvin, Tx. passed away at the age of 71 at Michael E. DeBakey VA Hospital on April 3, 2014 due to complications arising from a long time spinal cord injury.

Louis was born on February 10, 1943 in Abbeville, Louisiana to Lydia and Otis LeBlanc. He was raised with his younger sister Donna Kay in Groves, Texas. He attended PN-G High School where he was a proud member of the Indian Football team. He graduated in 1963 but his heart never left the tribe. He would forever bleed the purple and white. He attended Lamar Tech College until he joined the Air Force. He married his love, Nancy Elizabeth LeBlanc of Port Neches, Tx. on November 6, 1965 and they moved to Klameth Falls, Oregan where they began their family. They moved back to Texas when he got out of the service and relocated to League City to work at NASA Johnson Space Center. He later went to work as a draftsman for the Texas Highway Department. He was a devoted husband and father and spent much of his spare time coaching the youth of League City in TIFI Football and Little League Baseball. He became a fan of the Clear Creek Wildcats and didn't miss a chance to watch his kids participate. In 1984 he was confined to a wheelchair due to complications with a spinal cord injury from when he was in the service. But that didn't slow him down. He continued to work and eventually drive again. He
retired from TxDOT in 2003. He spent several years in and out of the VA hospital. He loved being around the veterans and was very proud to have served
his country.

"I was sadden to hear the news about Louis' passing. He was a good friend and classmate. He was the best place kicker on the football team during our high..." Nathan Boyd (Huntsville, TX)
