You left this world a better place…
For your great memory will live in the hearts of many.
You took care of me…
…and loved me like I was family

You were like a grandpa to me.
I thank God for you every day.
Everyone keeps saying you're gone,
…But in my heart you stay

For God said it's time…
…and took you away.
But He left me all the memories…
…I hold dear today

When I stay up at night and cry…
…I hear your voice saying don't.
But instead reminisce in the life I have led…
….And all the fun times we have had.

One day God will say it's time to go.
Then on that day I will see you once again.
And we will play board games and collect stamps…
….like we did when I was a kid

Lou, I love you.
And you will be missed.
Every day and every minute
That I live.

Love, Abby

Lou was more of a man than anyone I've ever met. He worked hard to change his future from a coal mining life to a military career. He took responsibility and fought for his country in Korea and then Vietnam. He married his high school sweetheart Rita. He became a father of four children. All of them were treated the same. He was a kind, humble, strong, brave, witty, intelligent, helpful, and wonderful friend, husband, father and grandfather. He helped anyone he could and asked for nothing in return. He lived life to the fullest. Lou Levanduski taught me to try my best in everything I do and to treat people with respect no matter who they are. RIP Lou. I'll keep working on our stamp collection. Thank you for everything. Love, Madelyn

From one former Airman to Another -

High Flight

Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth
And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
Sunward I've climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth
of sun-split clouds, — and done a hundred things
You have not dreamed of — wheeled and soared and swung
High in the sunlit silence. Hov'ring there,
I've chased the shouting wind along, and flung
My eager craft through footless halls of air. . . .

Up, up the long, delirious burning blue
I've topped the wind-swept heights with easy grace
Where never lark, or ever eagle flew —
And, while with silent, lifting mind I've trod
The high untrespassed sanctity of space,
Put out my hand, and touched the face of God.

Mark and I were fortunate to have met Lou as a result of the marriage of his grandson Vincent to our daughter Katie. We felt an immediate bond and connection to his genuine spirit and sense of family. Having come from military backgrounds we also appreciate his service to our country. We will miss him. Dad was the kindest, loving and caring man we were so fortunate to have as our father. He and mom were always there for you, willing to drop anything, go any distance to help anyone. He was so knowledgeable about everything. I knew I could always turn to him for advice. I would go to him so unsure of myself and walk away so confident. He took such pride in his military and phone company careers. He loved sharing his war stories - I never realized how much I would miss not ever hearing them again. He had such a love for fishing, cooking, woodworking, stamp collecting and mentoring. He enjoyed sharing his hobbies with his family and friends. Dad lived and enjoyed such a full life. I know everyone he touched has that little personal memory of him they will keep and think of when they remember him. I miss you so much dad. Love Gee

I have many fond memories of the Levanduski family while growing up in Oxon Hill. Mr. Levanduski was a true family man who was always ready to serve as a mentor to the neighborhood kids. I still think of the fishing trips that Mr. Levanduski took us on and how he was never too busy to make us feel that we were all important. The neighborhood kids and my brothers and sisters were all better people for having known this wonderful family.

The best wishes and fervent prayers of the Reeves family are with you, Mrs. Levanduski, Stan, Gloria, and Dennis during this time. Mr. Levanduski was a great role model and teacher and will never be forgotten.

God bless you all.

What an awesome man! There wasn't anyone more genuine than Lou. Clever and bright ...always beating us at any board game we played...lol. We loved him like a grandfather and will always remember his powerful stories of days past. He accepted us as part of his and Rita's family and we loved visiting with each other. He is truly missed. The Lampiris Family

Lou and Rita Levanduski with their 4 children, Stanley, Ellie, Gloria, and Dennis were our neighbors from 1963-1981. We lived across the street from each other in a cul-de-sac on good old Cloverdale Drive in Oxon Hill, MD. The Levanduski's were fine neighbors and friends. We shared every day life as well as special days in life. Lou was a neighbor we could depend on; strong, tough but kind, a patriot and a family man. We were blessed to know Lou, his wife Rita and his family.
Our deepest condolences,
the Lampiris family
