Louis Mariutto 89, of Beech Grove, passed away on June 12, 2014. Louis is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Dorothy; daughters Karen Smith, Susie Mariutto, and Judi Sponsel; sons Mark (Pam) Mariutto, and Matt Mariutto. Louis is also survived by 13 grandchildren; Sherry (Sean) Rose, David (Julia) Mike Sponsel; Pete, Ben and Nell Mariutto; Anna, Alison and Kelli Mariutto; Nicholas, Dolan, Tony and Luke Monroe and 3 great grandchildren: Coen, Carter and Charlize Sponsel. 89, of Beech Grove, passed away on June 12, 2014. Louis is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Dorothy; daughters Karen Smith, Susie Mariutto, and Judi Sponsel; sons Mark (Pam) Mariutto, and Matt Mariutto. Louis is also survived by 13 grandchildren; Sherry (Sean) Rose, David (Julia) Mike Sponsel; Pete, Ben and Nell Mariutto; Anna, Alison and Kelli Mariutto; Nicholas, Dolan, Tony and Luke Monroe and 3 great grandchildren: Coen, Carter and Charlize Sponsel.

Louis was preceded in death by two of his daughters; Theresa Mariutto Monroe and Janice Mariutto, and his sister Rosemary Roth.
Louis was a brick mason and worked on or estimated the work on countless Indianapolis area buildings, schools and businesses. He left his mark on the landscape of Indianapolis, including the masonry work on the Hoosier Dome. His hard working attitude and drive for a job well done to perfection were evident in his results and craft.

He was a long time member of Holy Name Catholic Church in Beech Grove and a devout Catholic.
Louis was an avid sports fan, especially baseball. He and his wife are 40-year season ticket holders for the Indianapolis Indians. He grew up a big New York Yankees fan, which continued until his passing. Louis was a very good athlete in his younger days and excelled in baseball, softball, golf and bowling. He loved to talk sports with anyone.

Louis was a devoted husband, a very involved and caring father. He was a great grandfather. He loved when his grandkids were around him and loved talking to them about what they were doing.
Louis was a great friend to many and loved talking to anyone, anywhere. He will be missed by many and his impact on his family, friends and loved ones will be felt for years.

Visitation will be held on Sunday June 15, 2014, 4pm to 8pm at Little and Sons Funeral Home in Beech Grove. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday, June 16, 2014 at Holy Name Catholic Church at 10am.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Legacy Fund at Holy Name Catholic Church (89 N. 17th Ave., Beech Grove, In. 46107) in the name of Louis Mariutto.
