MACON - Louise White Barrow, 84, went to be with the Lord on May 23, 2012. She was born in Macon, Georgia on August 8, 1927, the daughter of the late Clayton Zealand White and Gladys Newberry White.
Louise graduated from A.L. Miller High School in 1945 and worked at First National Bank and Trust Company of Macon where she retired in 1986. While working at the bank, she met Theodore Broughton Barrow (Ted). They were married in Macon, Georgia on October 16, 1949. Louise was a charter member of Riverside United Methodist Church, a member of the Beaty-Gray Sunday School class where she played the piano for over 55 years, and a member of the Love Circle of Riverside United Methodist Women for over 50 years. In the church she served on the Worship Committee, as circle leader in the United Methodist Women, and on the Altar Guild. She was also involved in various community and social organizations including Historic Macon, bridge, and the "eat- and- talk" club. Louise enjoyed being with people and having fun. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ted Barrow and daughter Pam Barrow Amerson.
Louise is survived by her son Jim Barrow (Donna) of Macon and daughter Jan Barrow Shaw (David) of Suwanee, Georgia. Louise has 7 grandchildren: Beth Shaw Muetzelfeld (Bret), Sarah Shaw, Dave Shaw, Ryan Amerson, Joshua Amerson, Alysha Amerson, and Sutton Barrow. She has 2 great grandchildren: Mason Amerson and Hope Shaw. She is survived by a sister Sarah Cunningham of Dacula, Georgia., cousin Edward Norwood of Macon, Anne Woods (Jack), and Nancy Pyles (Brent).
The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 Friday, May 25, 2012 at Riverside United Methodist Church, 735 Pierce Ave, Macon 31204. Burial will be private in Riverside Cemetery. A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 26, 2012 at 12:00 at Riverside United Methodist Church. Dr. David Shaw and Dr. Neal Wall will be officiating. Donations may be made to Riverside United Methodist Church Building Fund, Cancer Research, or donor's favorite charity.
