On Friday, March 14, 2014, God took one of his beautiful earth angels back to her heavenly home. Louise Williams Benton was that angel. She was born January 2, 1926 to Jason Van and Hattie Pierce Williams in Hallsboro, NC.

She left behind her loving husband of 66 years, Edwin Benton; two loving daughters, Donna B. Schreiner and Ginger B. Newton; and two wonderful grandchildren, Lacey and David Schreiner; son-in-law, Michael Newton; two sisters, Muriel of Raleigh and Mildred and husband Ken of Durham; brothers, Van and wife Peggy of Greensboro and Charlie and wife Vickie of Hendersonville; and several nieces and nephews. Her son-in-law, David Schreiner preceded her in death.

Louise loved her church, Sunset Park Baptist Church and was a devoted member singing in the choir and teaching children's Sunday School for decades. Her other great loves besides her family was her yard and gardens. You would always see her doing something every day, especially raking every leaf she could get to. She was truly beautiful inside and out and was kind and generous to all who knew her. She will be missed by so many especially all the birds she fed daily and loved to watch.

Chris Wroten will officiate a funeral service at Sunset Park Baptist Church at 2:00pm Wednesday, March 19, 2014. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the church Louise so dearly loved, Sunset Park Baptist Church, 231 Central Boulevard, Wilmington, NC 28401.

The staff of Coble Ward-Smith is honored to serve the family of Louise Williams Benton.
