Louise Barrois Mount, affectionately know to family and friends as Weezy, passed away on Sunday, August 4, 2013. She was born in New Orleans on October 1, 1936 to the late Filmore Alexander Barrois and Vera Gerlinger Barrois. She was the beloved wife of the late Matthew Carlin Mount, Sr. (Birdie). Louise is survived by her adoring children, Sean Patrick Mount (Shelley), Erin Mount Hadden (Mac), and Matthew Carlin Mount, Jr. (Sonja). "Bammie" as she was so lovingly called, was the grandmother of Evans McClellan Hadden, Jr., Brady McNeil Hadden, Elise Marguerite Hadden, Katherine Marguerite Mount, Matthew Carlin Mount, III, and Cullen Curtis Mount. Her children and grandchildren were truly the love of her life. She was preceded in death by sisters Betty Barrois Miller and Vera Barrois Dee. Weezy is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and a host of dear friends.

Weezy was a graduate of St. Mary's Dominican High School, which she cherished throughout her entire life. She earned a Bachelor of Science from Louisiana State University and a Masters Degree in Guidance and Counseling from Loyola University. She spent most of her life helping others and was a devoted educator. She was a teacher at Eleanor McMain Junior High School and a counselor at Edna Karr Junior High School. She served as vice principal at New Orleans Academy, a guidance counselor at Archbishop Chappelle High School and St. Mary's Dominican High School, where she was awarded the Veritas Award in 1998 for outstanding faculty member and worked until her retirement. She was also recognized by Who's Who Among America's Teachers in 1994.

While in college, she was a member and served as president of Alpha Omicron Pi Sorority. Later, she was a member of St. Mary's Dominican Alumnae Board and High School Association, an active member in Jesuit High School Parent's Club and the LSU Alumni Association. Until her illness, Louise was very involved with and devoted much of her time to the Feed Jesus Program at St. Joseph's Church caring for the poor and homeless. She spent countless hours helping those who were less fortunate, which brought her much happiness. She was a selfless person that was always thinking of others above herself, no matter what the circumstance. She had a very strong Catholic faith and was longtime member of St. Angela Merici Church.

Louise was a fighter and never let her illness or any tragedy get her down. Instead, she would rise above any challenge or hardship thrown her way. She absolutely loved being an integral part of her children and grandchildren's' lives. Whatever they were involved in, she was always there. She was a person that you could always seek advice from and never passed judgment on anyone. She worked on many, many political campaigns over the years, because she had such a strong commitment to her community. She was a very dear person and touched so many lives. She will be truly missed.

In lieu of flowers, masses and donations are requested for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, St. Mary's Dominican High School Scholarship Fund, the Feed Jesus Program at St. Joseph's Church and/or the Harry Thompson Center. Friends and family are invited to celebrate Weezy's incredible life. Visitation will take place on Thursday, August 8, 2013 from 10:30 am until 1:00 pm at St. Angela Merici Church, 901 Beverly Garden Dr., Metairie, LA 70002. Funeral Mass to follow at St. Angela Church. Interment in Greenwood Cemetery. Condolences at www.leitzeaganfuneralhome.com
