Lucille A. "Lucy" Arnholt, 87, of Columbus, died at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, October 6, 2012, at Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.
She was born in Bartholomew County, July 5, 1925, the daughter of Elmer H. and Emma I. Voelz Nolting. She married Roy L. Arnholt on June 29, 1952, in Columbus. He preceded her in death on July 16, 1995.
After graduation from high school, she attended Indiana Business College for four years. She had worked in the Bartholomew County Recorder's office for several years before becoming a homemaker.
She was a longtime member of St. Peters Lutheran Church, where she was involved in many church activities and Lutherwood. She was also a member of Sigma Phi Gamma Sorority and enjoyed euchre, bridge, working the poles during elections and Easter Seals.
She is survived by daughters, Lianne Reyes of Richmond, Va., and Melissa (John) Lovins of Columbus; a sister, Rosalyn Norman of Columbus; a brother, Charles D. (Betty) Nolting of Columbus; grandchildren, Ashlyn (Efrain) Torres of Richmond, Va., Clarissa Sluss of Shelbyville, Ill., and Jared and Rachel Lovins of Columbus; and two great-grandsons.
Lucy was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a sister, Eileen Forster; and brothers, Elmer L. "Butch" Nolting and Daniel L. Nolting.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Peters Lutheran Church with Pastor Mark R. Teike officiating.
Calling will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Myers-Reed Chapel on 25th Street and from 10 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the church. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.
