Obituary

Lucille "Lucy" Alcorn, 91, Rockford, went to be with her heavenly father on December 23, 2013 in Durand. She was born on April 3, 1922 in Rockford to Frank and Ellen Anderson. She was raised in Loves Park and graduated from Harlem High School. Lucille married Kasper Joitel in 1943. Later on, in the early 1950's, she studied and earned Certifications in Data Processing. Lucille went on to work as a Data Processor at Rockford Memorial Hospital for 28 years. After her retirement, she spent twelve good years traveling and was a former President of the VFW Ladies Auxillary, Post 9759 in Loves Park. She was also a member of Faith Lutheran...
Lucille "Lucy" Alcorn, 91, Rockford, went to be with her heavenly father on December 23, 2013 in Durand. She was born on April 3, 1922 in Rockford to Frank and Ellen Anderson. She was raised in Loves Park and graduated from Harlem High School.
Lucille married Kasper Joitel in 1943. Later on, in the early 1950's, she studied and earned Certifications in Data Processing. Lucille went on to work as a Data Processor at Rockford Memorial Hospital for 28 years.
After her retirement, she spent twelve good years traveling and was a former President of the VFW Ladies Auxillary, Post 9759 in Loves Park. She was also a member of Faith Lutheran Church and The Golden Agers. Lucille loved spending time with her grandchildren, gardening and had a passion for cake decorating and baking pies and cakes.
She is survived by her children; Ruth (Robert) Anderson and Karen (David) Peyton; grandchildren, Kimberly Peyton, Lesli Peyton, Audrey Anderson, Gail Anderson, Sarah Fluker, Amy Stashak and April Moore. Lucille is also survived by 11 great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her former husband, Kasper; her parents; sons, Kenneth and Bruce Joitel; grandson, Kenneth Anderson and her brothers and sisters.
Funeral Service will be at 1pm, Sunday, December 29, 2013 at Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N. Alpine Road, Machesney Park. Pastor David Peyton will be officiating. Visitation will be held from 12:30pm to time of service. Private interment will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
