LUCILLE BAGGETT WALKER

WINTER HAVEN - Lucille Baggett Walker, 81, passed away Saturday, October 26, 2013 due to complications from COPD and congestive heart failure.
Mrs. Walker was born on June 8, 1932 in Altha Florida to Bertha and Noah Baggett. The family split her childhood time each year residing in both: Altha, Florida and Eloise, Florida, where her
parents worked in the citrus industry during the harvesting season.
It was during one harvesting season, in Eloise, that Mrs. Walker met her husband, recently honorably discharged Navy sailor, Woodrow Wilson Walker, World War II veteran. Lucille and Woodrow were married on April 1, 1947 and were blessed with fifty-five years of marriage.
All five of Lucille and Woodrow Walker's children were born and raised in Winter Haven, Florida: Garry L. (Lori) Walker Sr. of Polk City; Patricia Diane (Kenneth) Farrer of Neely, Mississippi; Larry Woodrow (Martha) Walker of Auburndale; Barry Steven (Pat) Walker of Winter Haven; and Charlotte Ann (Dwight) Marsh of Winter Haven.
Friends and family of Mrs. Walker will testify to her evident enjoyment of visiting with people.
This personality trait served her well as she worked in retail sales for many years at the Diana Shop at Northgate Shopping Center, Katherine's Ladies Apparel on Central Avenue and the Vogue at the Winter Haven Mall.
Lucille's love for her family and friends was only surpassed by her love for her Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ.
She spent her life in study of God's Word, sharing her knowledge for over fifty-two years of teaching Sunday School to both children and adults: first at First Baptist Church of Eloise, and second at The Way at Inwood. Lucille also taught Vacation Bible School, sang in the choir, and served on many church committees over the years. An estimate of how many lives have been touched by Mrs. Walker would be hard to ascertain.
It is a certainty that her five children, thirteen grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, in addition to all who were fortunate to marry into her family, were impacted by her living legacy of faith in the Grace of God, as well as her lessons of hard work,
morals, and charitable giving.

"To the Walker Family, Please know our thoughts and prayers are with you all during this time of loss. The Dawson Family"
