Luisa Alvarez-Jerez, 80, of Shiloh, Illinois, born June 11, 1934, in Toa Baja, Puerto Rico, passed away, Monday, March 23, 2015, in Belleville, Illinois.
Luisa was a member of Edgemont Bible Church in Fairview Heights, Illinois. She thrived in the kitchen and on cleanliness. She was affectionately known as "Wita". She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, who will truly be missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Remigio and Higinia, nee Oretega, Alvarez; and her son-in-law, Brian Collazo.
Surviving are her loving daughters, Nancy Sosa and Wanda Collazo; her grandchildren, Chasity Rivera, Marcy Montanez, and Hannah Collazo, Josiah Collazo, and Jeremiah Collazo; great grandchildren, Allanie, Haley, and Sheyna; and her siblings, Catalina, Herminia, Liduvina, and Remigio.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m., Friday, March 27, 2015, at Edgemont Bible Church, Fairview Heights, Illinois.
Funeral: Services will be held at 6 p.m., Friday, March 27, 2015 at the church with Pastor Douglas White officiating. Interment will be held privately in Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, Illinois.
