Luisa (D'Ippolito) Bruno, 91 years of age, of Boston's North End, passed away on Tuesday, December 11, 2012. Luisa was the owner of Ida's Restaurant on Mechanic St. in the North End of Boston.
Loving wife of the late John P. Bruno, Sr. Cherished mother of John P. Bruno, Jr. and his wife Karen of Reading and Paul Bruno and his wife Donna of the North End. Beloved grandmother of Christin Gurgo and her husband Eric and John, Michelle, Paul and Philip Bruno. Great grandmother of Giuliana Gurgo. Loving sister of Ines Caggianelli and her husband Andrea, Angelo D'Ippolito and his wife Luisa and the late Agusto and Salvatore D'Ippolito. Also survived by many loving nephews and nieces.
Funeral from the Boston Harborside Home, 580 Commercial St, Boston, on Saturday, December 15 at 8:45AM, followed by a Funeral Mass at Sacred Heart Church, 12 North Square, at 9:45AM. Family will be accepting visitors from 4PM-8PM on Friday. Entombment at Mount Auburn Cemetery in Cambridge, MA.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Luisa's memory to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, PO Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284 or www.dana-farber.org.
