Luzviminda Mendiola Apolinar passed away on July 25, 2013 peacefully in her sleep at the age of 75. Mama Luz was born in Manila, Philippines on October 29, 1937. She was the daughter of Federico Mendiola and Marcelina Manliclic. Mama Luz was married to Julio Apolinar on January 22, 1961 at Bambang, Nueva Vizcaya. She was a wife of noble character based on Proverbs 31:10-30. Her life was centered on a reverent fear of God, compassion for those in need, and faithfulness and love toward her family. Luzviminda Mendiola Apolinar passed away on July 25, 2013 peacefully in her sleep at the age of 75. Mama Luz was born in Manila, Philippines on October 29, 1937. She was the daughter of Federico Mendiola and Marcelina Manliclic.

Mama Luz was married to Julio Apolinar on January 22, 1961 at Bambang, Nueva Vizcaya. She was a wife of noble character based on Proverbs 31:10-30. Her life was centered on a reverent fear of God, compassion for those in need, and faithfulness and love toward her family. She normally got up early and prepared for all of her family needs. She was a hard-worker, energetic and strong. In the Philippines, she was commonly known as "Aling Baby" and in Canada, everyone called her with endearment as "Mama Luz".

Mama Luz will be sadly missed by her daughters, Marcelina (Cely) and Juliet (Julie); son Norberto (Bert); grandchildren, Denise, Marie, Angela, Micah, Nikko, Joshua, Hazel and Adiel; great grandchildren, Angeline and Patricia; and by all those who love her.

She was preceded in death by her husband Julio and eldest son Armando.

A Visitation and Tribute was held at South Calgary Funeral Centre, 12700 Macleod Trail South, (at Lake Fraser Gate) Calgary on Saturday, July 27, 2013 at 5:00 p.m. with Pastor Richard Banaag officiating.

A Celebration of Life Service was held at South Calgary Funeral Centre on Sunday, July 28, 2013 at 6:30 p.m. with Pastor Andoni Ros officiating.

Mama Luz will be forever remembered and forever loved.
