Lynn Bennett died Friday, Sept. 2, 2011, at Manor Care in Yardley. Lynn had lived in Churchville for the past 57 years and had previously resided in Philadelphia.

Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Albert and Rosa. He attended Northeast High School in Philadelphia.
Lynn was the beloved husband of Irma and was married for more than 61 years.

Mr. Bennett retired after 31 years as a systems analyst for the Naval Supply Depot in Philadelphia. Lynn was an U.S. Army veteran. He was a member of both the V.F.W. and the American Legion in Bucks County. Mr. Bennett was a former scoutmaster of Boy Scout Troop 26 in Southampton. He enjoyed the outdoors and nature; he loved boating and fishing. Lynn was very handy, and could fix anything. He enjoyed tinkering with his cars. He was very family-oriented and loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Lynn was the devoted father of Gary Bennett (Kathleen), Nancy Colyar (Jim), and David Bennett (Diane). He was the loving grandfather of Laura, Amy, Michelle Colyar, and Michael and Keith Bennett. He was preceded in death by his brother, Norman. And he will be sadly missed by all of his friends at Manor Care of Yardley

Relatives and friends are invited to call from 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 7, at the Wm. Rowen Grant Funeral Home, Street Road and Second Street Pike, Southampton, where his service will follow at 11 a.m. The interment will be held privately.

The Bennett family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of Manor Care for their kindness and loving care they gave to Lynn while he resided there.

Memorial contributions may be made in his name to Boy Scouts of America, Bucks County Council, 1 Scout Way, Doylestown, PA 18901.

Arrangements under the direction of Wm. Rowen Grant Funeral Home Inc., Southampton, PA.

"Dear Irma, I am so sorry to hear of Lynn's passing. I know the pain you are feeling. Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. Kay"
