CHANDNOIS, Lynn Everett – Age 88 passed away April 19, 2011 in Flint, MI. Cremation has taken place per his request. A Memorial Service will be held at Reigle Funeral Home Friday, April 29, 2011 at 2 PM. Lynn was born in Fayette, Michigan February 24, 1923. He moved to Flint where he attended Flint Central High School. He excelled in sports and was All State in both football and basketball. From high school he enlisted in the U.S. Navy during W.W.II. After his discharge he enrolled at Michigan State University, where he started his 4 years Spartan football college career. He was unanimously elected as All American in 1949. ...
CHANDNOIS, Lynn Everett – Age 88 passed away April 19, 2011 in Flint, MI. Cremation has taken place per his request. A Memorial Service will be held at Reigle Funeral Home Friday, April 29, 2011 at 2 PM. Lynn was born in Fayette, Michigan February 24, 1923. He moved to Flint where he attended Flint Central High School. He excelled in sports and was All State in both football and basketball. From high school he enlisted in the U.S. Navy during W.W.II. After his discharge he enrolled at Michigan State University, where he started his 4 years Spartan football college career. He was unanimously elected as All American in 1949. During college he married Mary Wilson in 1946 and had 2 daughters. After college he was drafted into Pro football, 1st round, 8th overall, where he played eight seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers, until injuries caused him to retire in 1958. Lynn moved back to Flint where he was District Manager for Jessop Steel Company. On July 21, 1993 he married Paulette Nuzum from Mt. Lebanon, Pa. Lynn has been inducted into the Inaugural Class of 1980 Flint Hall of Fame, M.S.U. Hall of Fame, Michigan Hall of Fame and The Upper Peninsula Hall of Fame. He was elected N.F.L. Player of the Year in 1952. He made it to the Pro Bowl twice. His accomplishments were many, too many to list in his life. He has been honored as one of the finest athletes of this area. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Paulette, daughters Lynda (John) Harris of Grand Blanc, Suzy (Gary) Arnold of Prescott, AZ, step son Pastor Robert (Jane) Turrill of Canonsburg, PA., grandchildren, Jim (Lynn) Wolverton Jr., Travis Harris, Cole Harris, Veronica Phillips and Aaron Arnold and 4 great grandchildren. Mr. Chandnois was preceded in death by his sister, Armalein and brother, Harlan. Lynn will be truly missed by his wife and family. He is and always will be our "Shining Star".
