RANKIN, M. Keith, age 79 of Miamisburg passed away Sunday, February 23, 2014 at his residence under the care of Hospice of Dayton. He was born December 23, 1934 in Lima, OH to the late Wilbur Eldon and Helen M. (Morey) Rankin. In addition to his parents, Keith is preceded in death by his brother, John Jay Rankin. Keith is survived by his wife of 57 years, Ruth Ann (Simmons) Rankin; his son, Keith (Denise) Rankin of Michigan; grandchildren, Jennifer Rankin, Justin (Chelsea) Rankin and Shawn Rankin; great grandchildren, Connor and Sophie; sister-in-law, Carol Rankin of Miamisburg; nieces, Shelly and Ria and nephew, Scott as well as his...
RANKIN, M. Keith, age 79 of Miamisburg passed away Sunday, February 23, 2014 at his residence under the care of Hospice of Dayton. He was born December 23, 1934 in Lima, OH to the late Wilbur Eldon and Helen M. (Morey) Rankin. In addition to his parents, Keith is preceded in death by his brother, John Jay Rankin. Keith is survived by his wife of 57 years, Ruth Ann (Simmons) Rankin; his son, Keith (Denise) Rankin of Michigan; grandchildren, Jennifer Rankin, Justin (Chelsea) Rankin and Shawn Rankin; great grandchildren, Connor and Sophie; sister-in-law, Carol Rankin of Miamisburg; nieces, Shelly and Ria and nephew, Scott as well as his beloved feline companions, Tux, Sissy, Norton and Callie. Keith was a 1953 graduate of Miamisburg High School and attended Sinclair Community College. He honorably served our country during the Korean War as a Corporal for the US Marine Corps. Keith was employed by A & P Grocery of Miamisburg for several years and later retired from the railroad as a regional sales and marketing manager having been employed by New York Central, Penn Central, Conrail and CSX. Keith loved his job and his family, but also found time to enjoy his membership with the Miamisburg American Legion and Moose organizations. He also loved auctions, card games, pinnacle and euchre and couponing. Family will receive friends from 5:00-8:00 PM Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at Gebhart-Schmidt-Parramore Funeral Home, Miamisburg. Funeral service will begin 11:00AM Wednesday, February 26, 2014 also at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Hillgrove Cemetery, Miamisburg with military honors. Memorial contributions made to a favorite, hospice, heart, diabetes or cancer organization of the donor's choice.
