Mildred McDavid Patterson, age 96, passed away on the 9th of March 2011. She was born on the 15th of September 1914, in Seymour, Texas, to the late Henry Roy McDavid and the late Fannie Mayes McDavid. Mildred graduated from Rice Institute. She worked as a receptionist at Baker & Botts Law Firm in Houston, Texas, where she met her husband, Hugh Morris Patterson. Mildred and Hugh were married in Seymour, Texas, in January of 1941, and shared their lives together for over 40 years until Hugh's death in 1983. Mildred McDavid Patterson, age 96, passed away on the 9th of March 2011. She was born on the 15th of September 1914, in Seymour, Texas, to the late Henry Roy McDavid and the late Fannie Mayes McDavid. Mildred graduated from Rice Institute. She worked as a receptionist at Baker & Botts Law Firm in Houston, Texas, where she met her husband, Hugh Morris Patterson. Mildred and Hugh were married in Seymour, Texas, in January of 1941, and shared their lives together for over 40 years until Hugh's death in 1983.

Mildred was an active member of First Presbyterian Church where she belonged to the Rachel and Joanna Circles. She was a past chapter regent of the John McKnitt Alexander Chapter of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was also one of the 12 organizing founders of the Women's Association to the Houston Bar Association which subsequently became the Houston Bar Association Auxiliary.

Mildred was predeceased by her brother and only sibling, the late Patrick McDavid. She is survived by numerous cousins. A special note of appreciation to the volunteers with Klesis in Home Ministry at First Presbyterian Church for bringing communion to Mildred at her home. A special thank you to Houston Hospice for care and guidance during the last year of Mildred's life and a special thank you to Mildred's loyal and devoted caregivers who took such loving care of her for 15 years.

The memorial service to celebrate Mildred's life is to be conducted at one o'clock in the afternoon on Friday, the 18th of March, in the Chapel at First Presbyterian Church, 5300 Main Street in Houston, where AnnMarie Wallace, Interim Director for Congregational Care is to officiate.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Harold C. Hebert, and daughter, Cynthia Ann Hebert-Shirley. She is survived by her granddaughter, Sharon Ann Shirley; her grandson W. John Shirley IV and his wife Leticia C. Shirley; and great-granddaughter Leah Bryce Shirley..
Prior to the service, the family and caregivers will have gathered for a private interment service at Glenwood Cemetery in Houston.
