Obituary

Frances Mildred Steward (Doty), 89, of Venus, Texas went home to her Lord on Saturday, October 26, 2013 in Houston, Texas. Services celebrating her life will be held at Grove Hill Funeral Home. Visitation will be Tuesday, October 29th, from 6pm-8pm. Funeral services will be Wednesday, October 30th at 10am. Burial will follow at Grove Hill. The service will be officiated by the Reverend Charles Diffee. Mildred was born on September 20, 1924, in Venus, Texas, the daughter of Romie and Hassie Doty. She married J.C. Steward November 13, 1940 and celebrated 60 wonderful years of marriage. They were the parents of Glenda Pyles of Missouri...

Steward November 13, 1940 and celebrated 60 wonderful years of marriage. They were the parents of Glenda Pyles of Missouri City, Texas and Jerry Steward. Survivors include her daughter Glenda and son-in-law Gary Pyles of Missouri City, Texas. Grandchildren: Kelley Derrick (Kip) of East Bernard, Texas and Kevin Pyles (Joy) of Richmond, Texas. Great grandchildren: Chelsea and Austin Derrick of East Bernard, Texas and Stryker Pyles of Richmond, Texas. Her sister Joyce and brother-in-law Martin Musser of Rockwall, Texas and brother Curtis Doty of Dallas, Texas. Honorary granddaughter Auriel Vokolek and many loving family members. Mildred is preceded in death by her husband J.C., son Jerry and other loved ones. Mildred led a full and beautiful life and was loved so much by family and friends. She was involved in the Purple Heart Women's Auxiliary of Dallas, Texas. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and sister. Mildred loved taking care of her family, her kindness and loving heart will be missed.Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, October 29, 2013 at Grove Hill Funeral Home. Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at Grove Hill Funeral Home-Chapel with interment to follow at Grove Hill Memorial Park.
