Clifford E Maurer, 41, passed away on May 11, 2012, in Katy, Texas. He was born February 5, 1971, in Ashland, Ohio, the son of David Eugene and Margaret Hope (Miller) Maurer. From 1992 to 1996 MSG Maurer was an Army Ranger, 1st BN, 75th Ranger Regiment. He received his bachelor's degree in Computer Programming from Texas A&M, Commerce, in 2000. Cliff married Amber Dawn Davis February 28, 2004. Having met in college, they built a home in which God was first and laughter was frequent.
He attended the West Houston Church of Christ in Houston, Texas, and previously worshiped with the Shiloh Road Church of Christ, Tyler, Texas.
He could accomplish anything he set his mind to do. He encouraged many in their military careers and was respected by his peers. His children will remember his humorous teasing and their special relationship with him. He loved his family with all his heart.
Cliff is survived by his wife, Amber, and five children: Caleb, Clifton, Eva, Sabrina, and Justin and wife Krystal. Survivors also include his parents David and Margaret Maurer; parents-in-law. Randy Davis and Anita Davis; granddaughters Elizabeth and Alina, and other family and close friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Clair and Frances Maurer of Ashland, Ohio and Earl and Mattie Miller of Paris, Texas.
Friends and family may gather for viewing Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. at Lloyd James Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m., Thursday, May17, 2012 at Shiloh Road Church of Christ, 1891 Shiloh Rd., Tyler, Texas with Chris Detkos officiating. Military graveside service will follow at Tyler Memorial Cemetery.
