Mabel L. Thomas, age 75, went peacefully to Heaven after a long illness. She was in the loving care of Hospice of the Comforter and Conway Lakes Nursing Home. Mabel is survived by her husband, Robert J. Thomas, Emeritus of Ocala; son, Dr. Bill (Nancy) McCallister of Winter Park; daughter, Donna Sadler of Lake Mary; sister, Pearl Gammage (Bo) Johnson of Orlando; brother, James Congleton Stanton of Kentucky; grandchildren, Matthew (Penny), Jason (Sara) David, Justin, Tyler and Seth; great grandchildren, Austin and Hunter; stepson, Robert Thomas; stepdaughter, Linda Russek. Mabel has been a Godly witness since childhood. Her love was for children and youth. She taught many years in Christian schools, Azalea Park Baptist School and Dover Shores Baptist. She worked for First Federal Savings, Orlando, for several years. Mabel loved being a greeter at Faith Assembly Church. All that knew her, loved her. She could be very humorous, even in her last days. She was a special child of God. She also leaves behind many wonderful friends, nieces and nephews. Many teenagers remember her love and guidance for them when they were children. Mabel has touched many lives. Funeral services will be at Dover Shores Baptist Church, 551 Gaston Foster Rd., on Monday, June 14, 2010 at 3:30 PM with Dr. James Fortinberry of Dover Shores Baptist Church and Pastor Carl Stephens of Faith Assembly Church officiating. Interment will follow in Chapel Hill Cemetery. Visitation at Carey Hand Colonial Funeral Home, 2811 Curry Ford Rd., on Sunday from 6-8 PM. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Hospice of the Comforter, 480 Central Parkway, Altamonte Springs, FL 32714.

"Aunt Mabel was a one of a kind, an original lady in every sense. Always a smile on her face and a Circus Peanut in her purse, she was cherished by all she..." Jeff Darling (Fort Myers, FL)
