Janice,
I am very sorry to hear your Mother had died. I remember working at Hermes in the middle 1970's and was very impressed with both the program and the effort she put into it making it a success.
May her soul rest in peace, and I hope you remember the good times you spent with her.

Mrs. Lockhart was my special education teacher in 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grade. She was the only teacher in Cleveland that had heard of dyslexia back then. Without her diligence I wouldn't have learned to read. I have lived a long productive life and I owe it largely to Mrs. Lockhart's efforts. I saw her last in 2008 when my mother and I dropped in on her at her home in Cleveland to thank her in person for all she did for me. I am sure there are hundreds of stories like mine. She will be dearly missed.

Janice, We were so sorry to hear of Madge's passing. She was a lady of many unique talents! Her efforts on the behalf of handicapped children will never be forgotten. God bless you and yours at this difficult time.

Madge, thank you for teaching my daughter to read when all the school efforts failed. Cleveland still does not realize the jewel they had in their educational system. We will miss you.
