Madine Ayres Bailey went to be with her Savior on March 18, 2013. She was born November 13, 1931 to Katherine O. Collins Ayres and James Rusell Ayres in Bienville, Louisiana.
She was a Proverbs 31 wife and mother and a wonderful example of a Godly woman to all who knew her. She loved her church and her community, and she joyously gave of herself to enhance others' lives.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Alton Bailey, son Steven Bailey, son Kenneth Bailey and wife Josie, and daughter Janet Bailey Booth and husband Dale. Her grandchildren are Richmond Booth, Nadine Booth, Joshua Bailey, and Thomas Booth. Also, her sister Matice Swindle and husband Richard, her brother James Ayres and wife Ann, and her sister-in-law Telia Baughn. She has several nieces and nephews, all of whom were her favorites.
She was preceded in death by her son Gary Bailey, brother Tom Ayres, and her parents.
We love you dear wife and mother, and we anxiously await the time when we will be together in Heaven with you and the One who gave us eternal life.

Alton,Steve, Kenny, and Janet, I am so sorry to hear about Madine's passing. Tom called me on 03-25-13 to inform me. I can remember when Madine and Alton were married and when each of the children were born. Although we lived so very far from you all we were still family and love y'all dearly. I will miss Madine very much and look foreward to seeing her again in heaven. May the Lord give you the comfort and the strength to face the coming days as only He can give.

Mr. Bailey, Janet I am truly sorry for the loss of your wife and mother. Mom has been gone for a year now, and Dad for 3 years, and I still miss them more than ever. Just think of the reunion we will all have one day. You are in my prayers.

My first memory of Aunt Madine is when she and Uncle Alton brought their tiny baby boy, Gary Wayne, to meet us in Olton, TX. I was 2-1/2 or 3 years old and I think Gary must have been the first baby I had ever seen, at least the first to make such a profound impression on me. Immediately after they left, we discovered that Aunt Madine had left a pair of shoes at our house so we got on the road to Plainview and caught up with them. There's a wealth of memories from that time forward. We used to share recipes, watch the conventions of both political parties and critique them by phone, try to solve the problems of JR and Sue Ellen. . . . We had so much in common and it was at Aunt Madine's urging that the Baughn family moved to Anthony in 1955. From then on, our lives merged and because of Uncle Alton and Aunt Madine, this only child grew up with three brothers and a sister. Aunt Madine, we'll see you again one of these days and will sit down for coffee and one of your apple pies.

Aunt Madine was a special part of our family, and we always enjoyed the time we got to spend together although in recent years, those times have not been as often as we would have liked. She loved her family and was so proud of each of them. I know she left many wonderful memories with you to cherish. It makes me smile to have the assurance that we will see her again one day in heaven.
