Madlyn Hajek Cloutier, 84, of Shiner, Texas died February 3 at her residence in Shiner. Funeral Mass is under the direction of Buffington Funeral Home in Shiner, Texas and will be held on Wednesday, February 6, 2013 at 2:00 pm at Saints Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church in Shiner, Texas with Father Tommy Chen officiating. Interment will follow at the City of Shiner Cemetery in Shiner, Texas. A family visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at Buffington Funeral Home in Shiner, Texas from 12:00 pm until the Rosary is recited at 7:00 pm with Deacon Joe Machacek officiating. Madlyn was born on July 15, 1928 in Shiner, Texas. She was the daughter of Ernest J. and Millie (Pustejovsky) Hajek. Madlyn graduated from Shiner High School, and later, received a degree in Home Economics from Texas State College for Women (now Texas Women's University) and worked for Foley's in Houston before marriage.

On June 17, 1950 Madlyn was married to J. Jack Cloutier in Saints Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church by Reverend John Wagner. They lived in Baton Rouge and Shreveport Louisiana where Jack was an architect. In July of 1960 they moved to Shiner.

Madlyn was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a devout Catholic and was active in many local organizations. She served as a Girl Scout Leader and assisted with the Cub Scout Troop. Madlyn was a Life Member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She was also a member in Shiner Wolter's Library, Emeritus member of the Pilot Club of Shiner, a past member of the Shiner Hospital Auxiliary, Shiner Half Moon Walkers, and the Shiner Gaslight Theatre.

She is survived by a son J. Madison of Moravia San Jose, Costa Rica, and two daughters, Jacquelyn Glomb and her husband, Steve of Buda, Texas, and Mona McKinnerney and her husband, Rick of Sugarland, Texas. She was blessed with twelve grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Madlyn was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest J. (1964) and Millie (1994) Hajek, her husband, J. Jack Cloutier (2007).

Pallbearers for Mrs. Cloutier are Dustin Cloutier, Michael McKinnerney, Matthew McKinnerney, Bill Bradfield, Gus Kubecka, and Dennis Mraz.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a Charity of Choice.
