Mae L. Smith 91, of Winter, WI formally of Antioch, IL, passed away peacefully on May 12, 2013 at Golden Living – Valley of Hayward Nursing Home in Hayward, WI.
Mae was born to the late Jack and Addie (Mapes) Dodge on May 9, 1922.
Mae married Charles B. Smith on January 3, 1944 and together they were proprietors of the Smith Resort on Channel Lake and later owners of the 19th Hole Restaurant and Lounge on RT 59 in Lake Villa. Chuck preceded her in death on December 28, 1991.
Survivors include her children James (Judy) Smith, Charles (Diane) Smith, Susan (Michael) Haley, Jeffrey (Ginger) Smith, and Mark Smith; grandchildren Sunday (Bill) Barnaby, Matthew Smith, Jennifer (Clint) Perrin, Megann (Joseph) Loffredo, Christopher (Judy) Olsen, Aaron Smith, and Dylan Smith; great-grandchildren Rachel, Chelsea, Raymond, Rylee, Reegan, Mike, Maxwell, and Jesse; and her sisters, Avis (the late Tony) Huber and Linda (Jim) Anderson; and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her brother Jack Dodge, and her sisters Marion (Ralph) Schaller, Margaret (Fred) Wilke, and Doris (Herman) Holbek.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m., Thursday, May 16, 2013 at Zion Lutheran Church in Winter, WI. A time of gathering with family and friends will be held one hour prior to the services at church.
