Magdalene Reck Morales, age 87, of Tallahassee passed away at home in the presence of her loving family on Sunday, March 29, 2015.She was born on October 27, 1927 to the late Johann Michael Reck and Luise Berlinger Reck of Nuremberg, Germany. Magdalene was a resident of Columbus, GA since 1954 and had lived in Tallahassee since June of 2011. She was a teletype operator who entered a postwar romance with her soon to be husband of 62 years.She loved baking and was a homemaker at heart. Magdalene was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Karl Reck; one nephew, Roland Reck; and one great-nephew, Alexander Haack. She is survived by her husband, Meliton; one daughter, Dolores (Dr. Robert) Steele; two sons, Rolando (Katie) Morales; Dr. Bert (Tracy) Morales; 8 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM on Friday, April 3, 2015 at Culley's MeadowWood Funeral Home at 1737 Riggins Road.In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer's Project or Big Bend Hospice. The family would also like to express their heartfelt thanks to the Visiting Angels for their care and compassion during Magdalene's illness.
