Mamie Hood Moody, 88, passed away on Wednesday, August 6, 2014 in Abilene. Funeral services will be 10:00a.m., Monday, August 11, 2014 in the Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 542 Hickory St., with Pastor Sam Harp officiating. Burial will follow in the Elmwood Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home. Visitation will be Sunday from 4:00p.m. to 6:00p.m. at the funeral home.

Mamie was born on February 16, 1926 to Chris and Pearl Robison Baskerville in Logan County, Kentucky. She attended schools in Corinth, Kentucky and later married John Moody. Together they raised ten children and enjoyed a very full life of love and companionship. Mamie was a member of the 1st Assembly of God Church.

Preceding Mamie in death were her parents; and four sons, Raymond Ellis Hood, Henry David Hood, Danny Ray Hood, and Kenneth Wade Hood.

Survivors include her husband, John Moody; two daughters, Louise Bickle, and Sharon Ann Ezell; four sons, Dennis Wayne Hood, Roger O'Dell Hood, William Lonnie Hood, and Ricky Lee Hood; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
