Marcella Williams, age 79, of Blountville, TN departed this life to meet her Lord and Master on Wednesday, August 28, 2013. Born in Gate City, VA, a daughter to the late William C. and Cornie E. Gilliam Blair, she was a longtime resident of Blountville. She was also preceded in death by her devoted husband of fifty-seven years, George Harvey Williams; one brother, Robert Blair; two sisters, Pauline Chandler and Martha McDavid. Marcella was a homemaker and was formerly employed with Drs. Bowles and Vermillion for several years. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church where she served as a Vacation Bible School Teacher and Training...
Marcella Williams, age 79, of Blountville, TN departed this life to meet her Lord and Master on Wednesday, August 28, 2013. Born in Gate City, VA, a daughter to the late William C. and Cornie E. Gilliam Blair, she was a longtime resident of Blountville. She was also preceded in death by her devoted husband of fifty-seven years, George Harvey Williams; one brother, Robert Blair; two sisters, Pauline Chandler and Martha McDavid. Marcella was a homemaker and was formerly employed with Drs. Bowles and Vermillion for several years. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church where she served as a Vacation Bible School Teacher and Training Union Teacher. Marcella was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and best friend and will be greatly missed. Survivors include, two sons, Marcus Williams and wife Judy of Blountville, David Williams and wife Stephanie of Jonesborough; two daughters, Alisa Yates and husband Mitchell of Chattanooga, Tamara Williams and husband Scott of Church Hill; five grandchildren, Jennifer Williams, April Williams, Amber Yates, Abbie Williams and Levi Williams; two nephews, Rick McDavid and James Chandler; two nieces, Mary Harrison and Monetta Mounger; and Mom's lifelong friend, Juanita McKenzie. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Judy Williams, Weisa Manis, Jamie McNutt, Fredya Spencer, Heather Ball and the staff of Bristol Hospice for all their loving care of Marcella. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Friday, August 30, 2013 at East Lawn Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life service will follow at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Eddie Zimmerman and Pastor Charles Brooks officiating. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at East Lawn Memorial Park. Serving as pallbearers will be Levi Williams, David Houser, Tony Houser, Scott Williams, Mark Mounger and Steve Self. And serving as honorary pallbearers will be James Chandler, Steve Mounger and Albert Pickle. Memorial contributions may be made to Bristol Hospice House 280 Steeles Rd.
