Margaret Ellen (McGuff) Harrell, 94, passed away Monday, September 25, 2017 at her home in Allen, Texas. She was born in February 1923 in Houston, Texas to John Richard McGuff and Elva Lillian (Lancaster) McGuff. Margaret graduated from Milby High School in Houston and attended Blinn College in the 40's. She lived in Houston, LaPorte, and most recently in Allen, Texas. She retired from the LaPorte ISD after 30 years' service at La Porte Junior High and Lomax Junior High. Margaret's greatest joy was found in her daughter, son, their families, and her siblings and extended family. She was a wonderful and loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend who will be missed every day. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Jack McGuff and James McGuff, sisters Mary Draemer, Doris Higgins, and June Foster. She is survived by her daughter Becky Outenreath and husband Gary; son Forest Harrell and wife Peggy; granddaughters Betsy Outenreath and Kate Outenreath; grandchildren Hayden Lester, Jackson Lester, and Kaitlyn Lester; and numerous nieces and nephews. Special thanks to the loving group at VNA Hospice and One On One Live-In Care.
