Margaret Isbell Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 12, 2017.

Margaret T. Isbell passed away August 10, 2017. She was born September 1, 1930 in San Saba, Texas to Hulen Graves Harris and his Wife Bessie Lee Harris.

She grew up in Grand Prairie and graduated from Grand Prairie High School. She worked for Powers Café in Grand Prairie and later Sears Roebuck in downtown Dallas. Margaret married William Isbell on April 3, 1950. She was a housewife for many years, helping with the bills by taking in ironing and laundry from the public so she could stay home raising her two children.

Her four-year-old daughter, Dana, talked her into going to meet her "little" Sunday School Teacher, Mrs. Wainscott. She fell in love with the church and soon became a member of East Side Assembly of God. She became a Sunday School Teacher after a short time. Later she became the church secretary and worked with Rev. Bob and Kathleen Skipper. She worked in the church relentlessly as Missionette director, Sunday School secretary, Womens Missionary Group secretary and any other position they needed. While there she met Gladys Land who became her best friend until her death. She raised her children and grand children with her values of loyalty to God, her church, her family and especially to her husband of over 67 years.

In 2015, her husband fell and broke his leg and never fully recovered. For two years, she never gave up hope and never stopped praying. For some reason, their tasks were not completed yet. They had someone yet to touch with their lives.

On July 27, 2017, God took her husband home. Exactly two weeks later, on August 10, 2017, God took her home. Now they can both rest and be at Peace together.

She is preceded in death by her Father, Mother, Brothers, Hulen Harris and Alonzo Harris, Husband, William, and Son-in-law, Gary Moon.
She is survived by son W.C. and wife, Claudette, daughter Dana Kay Moon; grandchildren: William David Isbell, Jeremy Daniel Isbell and wife, Alina, Rachel Faith Taylor, Belinda Westing and husband, Paul, Rebekah Seabolt, Chris Hartzel; great-grandchidren: Shawn, Brandon, Mackenzie, Zachery Paul, Cheyenne, Jessica, Zachary, Hannah, Schuylar, Sophia; brother-in-law Bob Isbell; sister-in-law Joyce Morris and husband, Neal; aunt Maybell and lots of cousins and nieces and other loved ones.

Mama and daddy, I have to let you both know you have such a wonderful and very smart son, my brother, WC. Even wth all of the other things going on in his life, he is taking care of me. And coming to my aide when I want to just fall apart and give up on every thing and every one. It is like "Footprints In The Sand", my brother is lifting me up and carrying me with tenderness, and guidance through it all, since you both have past away. Sometimes as you both know, life can be so cruel and very hard. I am so grateful that I have this big brother. He is bringing me through the toughest of storms. Loose one, but gain so many more! You know what I mean by that. WC is my ANGEL too. I kept my promise to you, mom. We made peace with one another. We are in a good place. He has such a big, soft heart. Mama, I miss you and daddy so deeply.please help guide all of us. Forever Your Daughter.

Mom loved God, my dad, and her family with unquestionable love. We were all blessed to have her in our lives.

She missed my dad so much in his last days. Tried everything she could to make him well. Prayed unceasingly but God had another plan. Two weeks after God took dad. He let mom come too. Their love was too strong.

She was a wonderful mother and friend to me and my sister. She will be greatly missed. However, I am happy she is once again with dad in heaven.

We love you mom.

Mama, remember the tribute to mother that I won did the South Dallas District of missionettes? I found it. It says I think my mother is the best mother in the whole wide world. She loves me so much that she takes me to church and acts like a Christian should. If she always cries then it makes me to cry because I love her so much and I hate to see her cry. I am proud of her because she text me to rallies and other Church stuff. She washes and dries dishes, irons clothes, cleans house, fixes supper and I can't name it all but I know my mother is one of the best because she does so much for me. When I get mad she can see it in my face and she just gives a friendly smile. She is so wonderful I just couldn't say all she does for me. She makes dresses, quilts, vests, and buys me almost everything. The song that says thank God for a Mother Like Mine well I do thank God for a Mother Like Mine she has taught me how a christian should act and taught me other things I should know about a Christian.
I still believe this tribute with all my heart. I miss you and I love you dearly your daughter, Dana Moon

Dana,
So sorry to hear of your mother's passing so soon after your father. I hope you find comfort in the many wonderful memories shared with them and all your loved ones. Even after all the years that have past since we knew each other in high school health occupations, I remember how you loved your parents. I'll keep you in my prayers.

Mama I miss your voice everyday. I look for you everyday across the street with Daddy. I'm keeping a close eye out for you and Daddy. I'm making sure things are done right. The way that you would want them to be done. I love you with all my heart and soul. You are the best and only mother that I could ever want. And I'm so proud that you were mine and my brother's mother. Tasks are hard to get done right now. Because I want to keep you as close as I still can. I cherish you as my mother. I miss you. You may be gone right now but you will not ever be forgotten. I love you so much.
