Margaret (Peggy) Terrell Townsend, 93, of Dallas, passed away on October 8, 2016 in Corinth, Texas.
Memorial service will be held 9:30 a.m., Sunday, October 23, 2016 at Rhoton Funeral Home, 1511 S. Interstate 35E, Carrollton, Texas 75006 with Rev. George Huey officiating. Arrangements are by Rhoton Funeral Home.
Margaret (Peggy) Terrell Townsend was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to James Garnett Terrell and Bernadine McElfresh on August 22, 1923. She attended Mesquite High School. She married George Lucas in Mesquite, Texas. Peggy's main occupation was a clerk at the Dallas County Courthouse. She was active in the Presbyterian Church, where she served as a Deacon.
She is preceded in death by sisters, Nancy Tribble and husband, Kenneth Tribble; Jamie Lee Bassi; brother, Jimmy Terrell; daughter, Carolyn Lucas Bass and husband, John Bass; and son, Fred Lucas; and niece, Jamie Terrell Miller.
Peggy is survived by nieces, Tina Terrell Burney and husband, Jay Burney; Rebecca Terrell Bruce and husband, Joe Bruce; nephews, Gregory Terrell, Tim Terrell and wife, Cindy Traylor Terrell; Terry Tribble and wife, Debbie Tribble; grandchildren, Sarah Bass Baetz and Jack Bass; great-grandchildren; great-nieces and great-nephews.
