Margaret G. Amendola, 96, of Charlotte and formerly of East Meadow, NY, passed away peacefully on December 23, 2013, at White Oak Manor of Waxhaw.
She was born in Manhattan, NY, on November 15, 1917.
Margaret is survived by her daughter, Nona DePasquale, and son-in-law, Robert, of Costa Mesa, CA; her daughter, Karen McCann, and son-in-law, Frank, of Cornelius, NC; her son, Robert Amendola, of Henderson, NV; and her son, Peter Amendola, and daughter-in-law, Melody, of Charlotte, NC. Margaret was blessed with eighteen grandchildren and twenty-five great grandchildren. She also is survived by three sisters-in-law, Josephine Domanico and Carmella Knoblock, both of Ridgewood, NY, and Annette Monteleone and brother-in-law, Joseph, of Bridgewater, NJ, as well as many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of forty-nine years, Alfonso Amendola.
Margaret's family will receive friends on Friday, January 3, 2013, from 4-7p.m. at the McEwen-Pineville Chapel, 10500 Park Road, in Charlotte. Her funeral mass will be held at Noon on Saturday, January 4, 2013, at the Catholic Parish of Saint Vincent de Paul, 6828 Old Reid Road, in Charlotte. The Reverend Mark S. Lawlor will be the celebrant.
The family wishes to thank White Oak Manor of Waxhaw and their loving and caring staff that took phenomenal care of her and the staff at Clare Bridge and Carriage Club of Charlotte where Margaret resided for almost four years.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association of Charlotte, 3800 Shamrock Drive, Charlotte, NC 28215.

Very sorry to hear about the passing of Aunt Marge. She will always be remembered as a loving person who truly loved her family. We will always remember the great family picnics at her East Meadow home. Those wonderful memories will last a lifetime. God Bless Aunt Marge.
