Margaret D. "Happy Birthday Grandma" Ayers, 81, of Evansville, passed away Monday, July 8, 2013, at Parkview Care Center. She was born January 22, 1932, in Evansville, to the late Charles K. Schwarz and Alice D. (Kellems) (Schwarz) Droll.
She was a parishioner at St. Mary's Catholic Church – Downtown and retired from housekeeping at the McCurdy. She enjoyed collecting glassware, travelling and spending time with her grandchildren.
Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Garland Stokes; and son, Michael Stokes.
She is survived by her daughter, Michele Dardeen of Evansville; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and good friend, Mary Keeker.
Services will be 1:00 PM Thursday, July 11, 2013, at Alexander East Chapel, with burial in Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may visit Thursday from 10:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.
