Obituary

Mrs. Margaret Louise Barrett, 92, passed away Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at Levine & Dickson Hospice House in Huntersville. Born in Wingate, NC on August 26, 1921, she was a daughter of the late William Norman Tarleton and Emma Braswell Tarleton, both natives of Union County. Mrs. Barrett was a homemaker and a member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church for many years. Mrs. Barrett had lived the past fourteen years at Brian Center Retirement Apartments on Reddman Road and will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. Mrs. Margaret Louise Barrett, 92, passed away Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at Levine & Dickson Hospice House in Huntersville. Born in Wingate, NC on August 26, 1921, she was a daughter of the late William Norman Tarleton and Emma Braswell Tarleton, both natives of Union County. Mrs. Barrett was a homemaker and a member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church for many years. Mrs. Barrett had lived the past fourteen years at Brian Center Retirement Apartments on Reddman Road and will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.

A funeral service to celebrate her long life will be held at 2:00PM, Saturday, June 28th at McEwen Funeral Service at Sharon Memorial Park with Rev. Billy Towery and Rev. Phil Turner officiating. Burial will follow in the Garden of Providence in Sharon Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 1:00PM to 2:00PM prior to the funeral hour at the funeral home.

Mrs. Barrett is survived by two sons, John R. Barrett, Jr. and wife Kathryn, of Sumter, SC, Gary N. Barrett and wife Pam, of Charlotte; a brother, Homer Tarleton, of Monroe; three grandchildren, Nancy Dukes, Audry Barrett, John Barret, III and two great-grandchildren, Madison Dukes and Zachary Barrett.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Barrett was preceded in death by her husband, John Robert Barrett, Sr.; a son, Michael W. Barrett; two sisters, Ona Lee Haigler, Evelyn Danner and three
brothers, Bruce Tarleton, Graham Tarleton and Gene Tarleton
