Mrs. Margaret Stauter Fillingim – a native and lifelong resident of Mobile, AL died Sunday, September 23, 2012 at her residence. Mrs. Fillingim was an active member of St. Pius X Catholic Church where she served as an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion. She was a member of the Riese Club, the Jubilee Club, the Priests' Burse Club, MOAA, the MOAA Ladies Auxiliary, a charter member of the ABWA, and the Rosswood Association. She was also a former member of the Ladies Sodality, the Ladies of Charity, the Providence Hospital Auxiliary, and the Historic Mobile Preservation Society. Mrs. Margaret Stauter Fillingim – a native and lifelong resident of Mobile, AL died Sunday, September 23, 2012 at her residence. Mrs. Fillingim was an active member of St. Pius X Catholic Church where she served as an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion. She was a member of the Riese Club, the Jubilee Club, the Priests' Burse Club, MOAA, the MOAA Ladies Auxiliary, a charter member of the ABWA, and the Rosswood Association. She was also a former member of the Ladies Sodality, the Ladies of Charity, the Providence Hospital Auxiliary, and the Historic Mobile Preservation Society. Mrs. Fillingim was preceded in death by her father, James Andrew Stauter; her mother, Mary Hicks Stauter; her husband, Captain Perry R. Fillingim, USMC (Retired); and her siblings, James D. Stauter, Mary Helen Stauter, and Leo M. Stauter. She is survived by her sister, Mary Stauter Pierce of Mobile, AL; two daughters, Sharon (Barney) Lusk of Mobile, AL and Donna F. Darty of Birmingham, AL; and a host of other nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 A.M. on Wednesday, September 26, 2012 from St. Pius X Catholic Church. The family will receive friends from 10 A.M. until 11 A.M. on Wednesday at the Sarto Center at St. Pius X Catholic Church with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 10 A.M. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the St. Pius X Catholic Church Roof Fund or the Bay Area Food Bank. Interment will be in Pine Crest Cemetery.
