Mrs. Margaret (Peggy) Ann (née Johnson) Green died December 10, 2012, in Getzville, New York. She was 99 years old. Mrs. Green, a daughter of Harry Mason Johnson and Lillian White Goldrick, was born October 16, 1913 in Indianapolis, Indiana. She was one of eight sisters (also Mary, Louise, Franny, Teddy, Kitty, Helen and Harriet ) and a bemused brother, Phil. She earned a Master's degree in Microbiology from Ohio State University, was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa, was active in Kappa Kappa Gamma, assisted Rene Dubos in groundbreaking research at Rockefeller University, stood at the back at the New York Metropolitan Opera and met the...
Mrs. Margaret (Peggy) Ann (née Johnson) Green died December 10, 2012, in Getzville, New York. She was 99 years old. Mrs. Green, a daughter of Harry Mason Johnson and Lillian White Goldrick, was born October 16, 1913 in Indianapolis, Indiana. She was one of eight sisters (also Mary, Louise, Franny, Teddy, Kitty, Helen and Harriet ) and a bemused brother, Phil. She earned a Master's degree in Microbiology from Ohio State University, was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa, was active in Kappa Kappa Gamma, assisted Rene Dubos in groundbreaking research at Rockefeller University, stood at the back at the New York Metropolitan Opera and met the love of her life while working in the Air-Borne Infectious Disease Laboratory of Camp Carson in Colorado Springs. She raised three wild boys. She was predeceased by her husband, Daniel Marie Green, and son, Joseph Kevin Green, both of whom died March 16, 1968. Thereafter she worked as a Hematology Technician at Saint John's Mercy Hospital in Saint Louis. She retired and moved to Rancho Mirage, California and was active in riding the bicycle no hands, and in the Panhellenic Society, the Desert Museum and the College of the Desert. She is survived by two sons, Daniel Michael, a Pediatric Oncologist of Memphis, Tennessee and Christopher Patrick O'Reilly-Green, a Perinatologist of Modesto, California, seven grandchildren, Amy Lynn Thomas (Nathan) of Amherst, New York, Sarah Ann Helms (Christopher) of Denver, Colorado, Daniel Joseph Green of Charleston, South Carolina, Siobhan Clare O'Reilly-Shah (Vikas) of California, Meghan Shawn O'Reilly-Green (Barry Rice Rafferty) of Ossining, New York, Caitlin Malia O'Reilly-Green of Atlanta, Georgia and John Wait (Leann) of Smithfield, Virginia. She was the beloved mother-in-law of Paula O'Reilly-Green and Lydia Ann Betz Green and beloved aunt to her many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews. She will be interred in Calvary Cemetery, St. Louis, Missouri.

Services will be under the direction of HOFFMEISTER COLONIAL MORTUARY, 6464 Chippewa @ Watson in St. Louis, Missouri. If friends desire they may gather at Hoffmeister Colonial Saturday, December 15th from 9:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. A Funeral Service will be conducted at the Chapel of Calvary Cemetery on Saturday at 11:00 a.m.
