Betty Smith (nee Hatton) left us peacefully after 91 great years on Sunday January 6th, 2013 in Toronto. She is now reunited with her loving husband James Douglas Smith who pre-deceased her in 2008. Her kindness, generosity and determination will be greatly missed by her only son Brad, daughter-in-law Patricia Parkin, only grandson Adrian Smith and loving sister-in-law Mary Katherine (Molly) Smith and all others who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Born and raised in Barrie Ontario, Betty married her childhood sweetheart Doug in 1945 and spent the next 63 years living in Toronto and London where she was actively involved in the community as an active volunteer and member of her local church. In addition to her passionate commitment to family, Betty distinguished herself through her relentless devotion to friends both human and canine whose well-being was always placed ahead of her own.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff and administrators at Christie Gardens in Toronto and to all her devoted care givers who collectively made her final years full and comfortable.

A memorial service will be held at Glenview Presbyterian Church (1 Glenview Avenue, Toronto) at 2pm Saturday January 12, 2013. Online condolences may be made at www.trullfuneralsyonge.com.
